A splendid, hill station machinated between the grand mountains of Pir-Panjal and Dauladhar range of Himalayas is Manali, Himachal Pradesh. At an altitude of 6260 ft., the city of Manali in the Kullu valley. It is land with beautiful scenery of snow covered mountain and dense pinewoods with the weaving Beas River. It is popular as Queen of valleys. The deodar, pine trees and the fruit orchard are spreading greenery in the snow covered mountains. The overwhelming flow of River Beas adds an appeal to the land of Manali.

Manali has close association with the Hindu Mythology. It is believed that, it is abode of Manu. It is believed, Manu is a title conferred to an ascendant of manhood. Also it is believed to be home of renowned Saptrishi. Manali is a premier hill station in the state of Himachal Pradesh attracting the visitors whole year long. Apart from the scenic beauty tourists are attracted the adventure sports. It is a hub of many adventure sports like paragliding, trekking, river rafting and mountain biking. The epic Hadimba temple is just 15 minutes’ drive from Manali. It is encarved with Pagoda style shrine and celebrates the festival of Dhungri annually with grandeur. The snow points or the Rohtang Pass or Solang valley are better known for the snow covering. It is around 51 kms from Manali. The adventure sports of skiing and paragliding are enjoyed by the visitors. Rohtang Pass opens at any time during the month of May for travel and a seal in September. This is one of the few regions in the country where snow can be found even during summers. Solang Valley is just 13 km from Manali, and the favorite picnic spot of the visitors. It is also called as snow point. There is temple dedicated to Lord Shiva on top of the hill.

The Ragunath temple fascinates everyone, who comes for darshan. This temple is dedicated to Lord Rama. It is believed that lord Rama residing in the temple is safeguarding the valley from all the evils. At 20 minutes’ drive, there is beautiful Pandoh Dam. The spectators visit this place for its panoramic and camera friendly beauty.

The climate, Manali experience is predominantly cold. In winters the temperature may even fall to -7 degree Centigrade. The temperature in summers is very pleasant and range from 13 degree Centigrade to 22 degree Centigrade. The maximum flooding of tourists is in the month of December, when the beautiful snow covers the mountains. The city is well connected and the roads are well developed. Manali is connected with Delhi through NH21 and Leh through NH1. The rail communication is not that easy, as the nearest connected area is Kalka, Chandigarh, Pathankot are far with 285km, 305km and 313km respectively. The bus facility is readily available both private transportation and HRTC.
