If you want to see heaven on the earth then you should visit to Kashmir. Kashmir is the paradise on the earth because of its natural beauty. It is located the north India. Its attractive beauty and three Himalayas mountain ranges (karakoram, zanaskar and pir panjal) attract the thousands of visitors in every year. The history of Kashmir is really very complicated. The conflicts began in Kashmir since the partition of our country from 1947. This state is full of Muslims but there is majority group of Hindus as well. Kashmir is famous in all over world for their handicrafts and Kashmiri craftsmen sell their handicrafts to tourist in summers. Some of them are very famous like persian rugs and traditional rugs, embroidered woolen caps, carpets, shawls and jackets, pashmina shawls, , embroidered gold and silver dresses, crewel embroidery. Wood statue is special and unique art of Kashmir. The walnut furniture is very popular in Kashmir that speaks about the workmanship and patience of Kashmir.

Kashmir is well-known for the saffron. It is very costly but its small amount increase the flavor of a dish. Almonds, walnuts, apples, shah zira, honey and kashmiri chillies are also famous item of Kashmir. Even these items are export to the whole world from this part of India.

Kashmiri food is famous for flavor and fragrance of the spice. Wazwan is famous feast that is serving by Kashmiri during festival time. This feast consists of thirty six meat dishes which are specially prepared by much skilled chefs. Dum kokur, rogan josh, alu bukhara korma, kebabs, gushtaba, seekh kababs and tabak maaz are very famous food in Kashmir. In sweets phirini and kahawah are very popular in Kashmir.

Kashmir fairs and festivals are the reflection of the Indian diverse culture and heritage. Like other state of India, Kashmir also abounds with various festivals and fairs throughout the year. Each fair and festival is celebrated with lots of fun and joy. Lohri, baisakhi, hemis festival, navratri festival, sindu darshan festival, jhiri mela, purmandal mela, chaitre chaudash mela, eid-ul-zoha and eid-ul-fitr are festivals and fairs of Kashmir.
