DELHI – The Happening City
Delhi apart from being the capital of India is the most happening place in India besides Mumbai. Both have their specialities but Delhi has a different magical world among its busy streets. From the magnificent Red Fort to Humayun, s Tomb everything here will altogether give you the view of the time whole India has seen since the invasion of Mughals. If you are a foodie and you are a die-hard street food fan, there can’t be a better place to treat your taste buds. The tangy cheats or those smoking kebabs, there is no partial ways in India for the veggie or the flesh eater.
There’s something for everybody in here. You just got to have that eye or simply follow these routes:
*JANPATH– Can you imagine, a 1.5 kilometre stretch with an abundance of walking vendors selling chunky jewellery, handicraft items, drums, horns and postcard. Besides this it has a long chain of boutiques selling products which are hard to find in malls and multi chain stores.
*QUTUB MINAR– A UNESCO world heritage site made in 1192 by Mughals is a must visit.
*RED FORT– A real fort made again by a Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It served as residence to Mughal emperors till 1857. Now is a place of national parade on 26th Jan.
*PARANTHE WALI GALI – If you know everything about parenting than it’s the time for the reality check. This whole street dedicated mainly to parents will give more than just parents. You are hungry in Delhi and you don’t show up at this place in Chandni Chowk area, then you have wasted your trip.
*IINDIA GATE– It Is literally situated at the heart of Delhi, this monument was made to remember the sacrifice of Indian soldiers in WW1 and the Afghan war. It links to the main roads of Delhi, so there’s no way you are going to miss this one.
*DELHI METRO– Get to know the cheapest method to ferry around the city. So clean and democratic, you won’t realise there is a city with hell congested roads just upstairs.
*KEBAB– The best thing Mughals gave us are these ready to melt in your mouth kebabs. There are various places in Delhi which can provide you with the same like Karim’s hotel in Jama Masjid and Khan’s Chacha’s kebab corner in Khan market but there’s no difference in quality. Moreover there are veg options too.
You can find a particular place or find your own new world in the never ending puzzled streets of Old Delhi. You won’t find a place to get lost for yourself better than this for sure. Moreover it’s India’s capital. What do you want more.
Besides these few places there are numerous places to visit, markets to empty your pockets in, and foods to eliminate your hunger for delicious food for a lifetime. It is a city which has more than what meets the eye. Any age group can find its own splurge. So this is not a city, this is actually the heart of India and always be.
