Sariska National Park-Rajasthan
The Alwar district of the western state of Rajasthan is famous for being the home to one of the famous wildlife sanctuaries in the country, Sariska Sanctuary. The sanctuary covers an area of 860 sq km. The sanctuary is situated in the foothills of the Aravalli Ranges. The area was declared a sanctuary in the year 1955 and was later upgraded to National Park status in 1979.
The main attraction of the Sariska National Park is the Tiger. It is a famous Tiger Reserve in the country that is under the special monitoring of the Government of India.
Sariska National Park is very popular among the nature enthusiasts. The pak offers variety of animal, plant, bird and insect population to the visitors. The presence of this outstanding sanctuary on the backdrop of mountain ranges offers numerous opportunities for the trekking lovers. The territory of the park is mainly hilly and the vegetation ranges from scrub thorn arid forests to dry Deciduous. The slopes are full of grass and impart a green view to its outer reaches.
The place also holds spiritual importance due to the presence of Lord Shiva Temples within the Park area. Therefore, thousands of Hindu devotees visit the Sariska National Park annually. A palace nearby the park boundary is also a main attraction, which has been transformed into a hotel.
The climate of the place is typically tropical. The summers are very hot but the best time to spot different species of animals – as animals come out of their habitat – from the inner part of the jungles into the open.
The flora and fauna of the region is totally magnificent. The fauna includes Tiger, Jungle Cat, Civet, Panther, Hyena, Chinkara, Four-horned Antelope and others. The birds that inhabit the area include Pea Fowl, Grey Patridge, Quail, Tree Pie and others.

Jaipur is the nearest airport while rail facilities can be availed at Alwar, the nearest railway station. The place is well connected to all the major towns of the country.
