Located on a hill town called Tirumala, near Tirupati in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati Temple is the most visited place of worship on the planet! According to rough estimates, 50 to 100 thousand devotees visit the temple every day!

Lord Venkateshwara, a form of Lord Vishnu (Maintainer among the Trinity Gods in Hindu Faith) is the presiding deity of this temple. The statue of the main deity is known as Dhruva Beram. It is believed that this statue is the biggest source of the spiritual energy that the temple has. The second main statue that the temple has represents the part of the Lord that enjoys all fruits. It is known as Kautuka Beram. The third main statue inside the temple represents the anger of the Lord. This statute comes out of the temple only once in a year.

Pilgrims need to wait several hours to get a glimpse of the Lord and therefore, it is important to visit the temple with some advance planning.

Located at an altitude of around 853m from the sea level, Tirupati Temple complex is spread over a total area of around 27 sq kilometers. Walls of the temple bear inscriptions that hold immense cultural, religious, spiritual and historical importance.

The temple is also known by the name Seshachalam as it consists of a total of 7 peaks, each one representing one head of Adishesha. The main temple is located on the 7th peak. It is situated on the southern banks of a sacred pond, known as Sri Swami Pushkarini.

A large number of legends are associated with the temple and appearances of the Lord in this area.

With over 50 thousand crores of financial worth of the temple trust, Tirupati Temple is the 2nd richest pilgrimage center in the world.
