Nanda Devi Wildlife Park- Uttarakhand
Located in the Chamoli district of Garhwal division in Uttarakhand, Nanda Devi Wildlife Park is situated in the lap of the mighty Himalayas. Spread over an area of 630 sq km, the wildlife park is positioned in the vicinity of the magnificent Nanda Devi peak. The spectacular wildlife park of Nanda Devi received the World heritage status by UNESCO in the year 1988.
The wildlife park is visited by a huge number of tourists annually attracted by its exotic beauty and proximity to the great Himalayas.
The assorted biodiversity of the Nanda Devi Wildlife Park is famous all across the world. However, the terrain of the park is slightly rocky but the splendor and beauty of the surroundings spellbind all visitors.
The Nanda Devi Wildlife Park is popular among nature lovers for its varied flora and fauna. The biodiversity found in this part of the world is unmatched by any standards. Some of the dominant species of animals found in the region include the Himalayan Tahr, Serow, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Musk Deer, Common Langur, Brown Bear, Ruby Throat and a few others. The birds in the Wildlife Park include the Orange Flanked Bush-Robin, Indian Tree Pipit, Blue-Fronted Redstart, Nutcracker to name a few.
Around 100 varieties of birds and 27 varieties of butterflies are found in the area of the Nanda Devi Wildlife Park. Nada Devi Wildlife Park is also a home to 312 floral species.
The flora basically includes Fir, Birch, Rhododendron, Juniper, Prone Mosses and Lichens. The deep valleys of the Park are covered with thick layer of grass that enhances the greenery of the region further.

The nearest airport is at Dehradun, the state capital, while Rishikesh is the nearest railhead. The park is adequately connected by roads to all the major cities of the country.
